Teaching for Learning
TFLGroup is a Georgia-based company that was created in 2008 to promote district-level educational improvement by providing clients with high quality research and evaluation services that are specifically customized to meet each client’s needs. Dr. Mike Harmon heads TFLGroup.
TFLGroup is NOT a technical assistance provider. In the course of our research and evaluation work, and upon request from the client, we may offer implementation suggestions that spring from our work. However, in general, we believe that districts and schools typically have in-house the knowledge and skills necessary to carry out meaningful improvement activities. The true need is for expert help in determining where they should direct their efforts. Our mission is to create knowledge that helps build local capacity to meet and exceed federal and state instruction, assessment, and accountability requirements.
Many of the districts we work with do not have an extensive research and evaluation budget. In some cases, they do not have any research and evaluation budget. To keep our costs as low as possible, we work with clients to find innovative ways to provide useful and technically rigorous research and evaluation solutions to practical problems. When necessary, we can adjust work schedules to spread costs across various fiscal years while still providing products and services in a timely manner.
TFLGroup is proud to work within the ethical principles adopted by the American Evaluation Association. These principles are available on-line at:
